Meet the Family
Our Story
Hi everyone! My name is Miranda, Meemaw to Franklin and Kap, and writer of this blog :)
I met John in September of 2021, and after a few months of friendship, we admitted we had fallen head over heels for each other, and by late November, we were officially dating.
John had two cats when we first met, Tiger and Kap. Kap was adopted by John in college by him and his roommates, as they were all incredibly homesick having moved away from family and pets to begin a new chapter of their lives. Tiger was John's cat from childhood, and his best friend. While Kap prefers solitude and hanging out in the same room without being touched, Tiger was a lover. He always wanted to be where we were, in our laps, getting head scratches. It devastated us when Tiger passed suddenly in September of 2023.
To fill the aching void Tiger had left in all three of us, John and I found Franklin. Of course, no one could ever replace Tiger, but Franklin helped us through our grief and is the cuddly love bug we needed. He and Kap grew close very quickly, and are the sweetest brothers.
Since then, John and I moved our little family from Los Angeles to Las Vegas! Every day is filled with love, playtime, and lots of food (especially dried minnows). Follow along on our adventures by subscribing to the blog and following Franklin Tiger on Instagram.

John, known as Pop-Pop to the boys, is an avid golfer, loves true crime documentaries, and collects hats. A world-traveler, he recently got his MBA from USC and works at a consulting firm. Fight on!
Miranda, AKA Meemaw to the boys, loves to read books, practice hot yoga, and binge TV shows. She is a self-published author, and you can find her books on Amazon! Miranda is also the writer of this blog ;)
Theodore "Kap" Kaepernick was born in 2014. Kap loves napping on clothes and stealing human food (specifically pizza). In 2022 he was diagnosed with diabetes. Thankfully he has two passive incomes, maid service, and personal chefs.
